SHANNON FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE
INVITES YOU TO BE APART OF A
PARENTING PEER SUPPORT NETWORK.

Our Family support worker Cathal has met with a lot of parents over the years and the overwhelming sense from parents is that its good to get out of the house and meet other parents and its great to share information with one another to keep informed of what's going on in the community and to share information and resources relevant to supporting children and families with one another.

The Parenting Peer Support Group was piloted between September and December 2023, funding of €2000 was secured from the
Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth earlier this year to support the establishment of the network in the community. The group which is always open to new members meets on a monthly basis at Shannon family Resource Centre and the workshops, discussions and information shared are decided upon by the parents themselves.
As the old saying goes "you get out of it what you put in".
