Clare Suicide Bereavement Support befriends and supports individuals, families and communities who are bereaved by suicide, whether recently or in the past.
When you’ve lost a loved one to suicide, it can rip your world apart. Disbelief, sadness, loss, anger, confusion - the feelings of grief can seem harder to handle than any other bereavement.
Clare Suicide Bereavement Support are fully-trained volunteers providing confidential emotional support to individuals, families and communities throughout Co. Clare, who are grieving the loss of someone they loved through suicide. They befriend, listen, support and care – providing a service that is free of charge.
During level 5 they are providing support by phone, text and online (Zoom or Skype).

The Suicide Bereavement Liasion (SBL) Service can offer you guidance, practical information and support at a time when you may feel your world has been changed.
The SBL Officer can meet with anyone who has been impacted by suicide. You may want guidance or assistance in accessing other therapeutic services, or even just to talk with someone locally about what has happened. You may have specific questions about some of the difficult practical issues following a death by suicide. In some cases, there may be a specific concern about the reactions and emotions family members, friends, colleagues or people in the wider community are experiencing.
No matter what your relationship is to the person you have lost, the service is available for you.

Adolescents & Grief
Everyone grieves in their own way; there is no set formula to help. However, adults who are willing and able to listen to teens, who accept their feelings as real and important, and who model openness in discussing issues of life and death, can support a teenager in loss and bereavement.

Barnardos Children’s Bereavement ServiceIt may take some time for a child to talk about death, but getting support and being listened to helps the healing. Barnardos Children’s Bereavement Service is here to help, by working with families to help them support their child through the grieving process. While we can't shield children from the reality of death and the pain of loss, we can help them to understand, to grieve and to cope a little better.

How do I access a service?

Free Irish Hospice Foundation bereavement resource pack to help those living with loss during COVID-19
The pandemic restrictions make everything seem strange, with normal routines disrupted. This is especially the case for people bereaved during this time, who find themselves planning a funeral and trying to cope with the loss of an important person in their life. Our hope for this pack is to provide information and assurance for people who are bereaved and some insights for those who want to help them.”

Children's Grief Centre limerick
Caring, Listening, Sharing, and Healing The loss of a loved one is very difficult for children and young people.Death, separation and divorce changes the shape of a family. Whatever the reason the impact on a child or young person can be tough, as they struggle to come to terms with what has happened.
The Children’s Grief Centre is there to walk the journey with your child. They provide support, care and an open ear to hear their story. They do not charge a fee for this service.
Milford Care Centre-Bereavement Services
Many people do not require support or counselling to help them deal with their grief. Others, though, do benefit from more structured professional bereavement support. We hope the following information will be of use to you in understanding what is available and how to access it.

How?
Bereavement Information Evenings, providing information on grief and bereavement and the support services available, are held four times per year, on the 4th Tuesday of February, May, August and November from 7.00pm to 8.30pm in the Education Department at Milford Care Centre.
Parent Information Evenings; specifically for parents grieving the death of their child, are offered in Milford Care Centre in conjunction with Anam Cara, (a national charity which supports bereaved parents). These are offered several times per year.
Bereavement counselling and support is available through a number of avenues:
Individual bereavement support; which may be a one-off session or regular meetings over a period of time. This is available to adults who are grieving the death of someone close.
Telephone support; may be available for people who are unable to travel to Milford Care Centre.
Bereavement Support Groups for Adults; take place in Milford Care Centre, one evening a week over a six or seven week period. We always encourage direct contact with the person seeking help and do not work through third parties.
